Of course, John Maxwell is at the top of my list as a certified John Maxwell Trainer, Speaker, and Coach! In everything I do, I talk about connection and the value of connection adds to self-development. This is the book I got it from these are where I do my coaching, these leadership books! If you want to lead you have to know how to connect. Start here.
John Maxwell hits it out of the park, home run, bases loaded on this one. This gives you a solid foundation to get your leadership path going in the right direction in your self-development. 21 one way in fact. What is great about this book, and John says it himself, is that it works no matter how old it is.
I shared this book with a client who, on the DISC Assessment, shows difficulty getting outside his shell and talking to people. It changed his life. It gave him simple ways to make the conversation start and win with people and work on self-development with coaching.
Not just for a good read, but for leaders too. And let me tell you listening to the audio is bomb because you get Matthew himself sharing his life. This book is full of nuggets and sayings that will likely get you through a couple of rough patches.
I believe that people that get famous have a lot to teach people that are in leadership roles. This is not only about tough times, challenges, and repeat offenses but about trying to overcome and admitting that this may not be the last and those moments that change everything. One of my favorite all-time reads.
Look at the title, need I say more. This book is going to either get you out of the "funk" of life or you are making the choice to stay where you are!
I read this book about 5 years ago and still to this day put some of these things into action when I am getting out of step with my life. My favorite was making a list of everything, yes everything that I need to and wanted to do and then making it happen! This is all part of leadership Coaching Training, making sure that what you lead yourself to is happiness.
I love when people like Tina Fey read their own books it adds so much more to their stories. I admire Tina Fey and the experience was has had as a woman getting to the top of the comedy scene. It is not always an easy road and she shares those bumps and curves so well, with humor.
Well, this has good points, I try to find a nugget in every book. I just have a hard time finding leadership tips from someone that is really good at talking and speaking to people but has never been in business to know how to lead. Sorry, Simon! But if you want to read a leadership book with lots of research, do it!
If you are a new leader this is an absolute must-read for anyone starting out in leadership. Maybe that is because it was the first book that I ever read because at the time there were not a lot of leadership books to read. Know these habits and you will succeed throughout your career.
I am not sure how we got by for so many years without the 8th Habit! To complete the powerful lessons of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People you must also know the 8th Habit.
This is one of the mastermind classes that I teach that is packed full of information. There are so many stages in leadership and we need to know our strengths and our weaknesses. This book gives us a good hold on where to go! But I think the book is much more useful if the workbook is used with it!
Amazon Review: From Stephen R. Covey's eldest son comes a revolutionary new path towards productivity and satisfaction. Trust, says Stephen M.R. Covey, is the very basis of the new global economy, and he shows how trustand the speed at which it is established with clients, employees and constituentsis the essential ingredient for any highperformance, successful organization.
For business leaders and public figures in any arena, The Speed of Trust offers an unprecedented and eminently practical look at exactly how trust functions in our every transaction and relationshipfrom the most personal to the broadest, most indirect interactionand how to establish trust immediately so that you and your organization can forego the timekilling, bureaucratic checkandbalance processes so often deployed in lieu of actual trust.

Amazon Review: We have a leadership crisis today, where even though our world has changed drastically, our leadership style has not. Most organizations, teams, schools, and families today still operate from a model of “command and control,” focusing on hierarchies and compliance from people. But because of the changing nature of the world, the workforce, work itself, and the choices we have for where and how to work and live, this way of leading is drastically outdated.
Stephen M.R. Covey has made it his life’s work to understand trust in leadership and organizations. In his newest and most transformative book, Trust and Inspire, he offers a simple yet bold solution: to shift from this “command and control” model to a leadership style of “trust and inspire.” People don’t want to be managed; they want to be led. Trust and Inspire is a new way of leading that starts with the belief that people are creative, collaborative, and full of potential. People with this kind of leader are inspired to become the best version of themselves and to produce their best work. In this “beautifully written page-turner” (Amy Edmondson, Harvard Business School professor), Covey offers the solution to the future of work: where a dispersed workforce will be the norm, necessitating trust and collaboration across time zones, cultures, personalities, generations, and technology.
Trust and Inspire calls for a radical shift in the way we lead in the 21st century, and Covey shows us how.
Just in time! We can learn so much from this book! Everyone has a message to share. Whether you want to improve your ability to inspire employees, be a woman that speaks up, be dominant in a male-dominated world, address a small group, speak from a stage, or communicate to an arena full of people, this book can help you.
I get so many people asking me where I got my readers! I have the Sally Jesse Raphael vibe with the red ones! They come in a pack of 4 and are a great deal at 19.99!
If I am going to recommend books I have to tell you I read them on this Kindle and I love it. It helps when traveling to save on the battery life of my phone to have the kindle and it is so thin and light you don't have extra weight! It also helps not to have all the storage on your phone from books.
I love to write ideas down with a pen and paper, but then I have all this paper and it stacks up and I do not know what to do without the Rocketbook. When I got this it was a game-changer! Now I take pics of my notes and it puts them exactly where they should go! And there is an APP for that!
I love colored pens. When I got the Rocketbook I was worried I would not be able to use different pens. However, that changed when I found these! It added to my amazing experience with the Rocketbook!
People often ask what I use for my presentations because they are so incredible! I tell them Canva and they say what is that! It is one amazing site that allows me to schedule social media while making my social ads in the same place! It has saved me so much time!
When I need to send a form, I use TYPEFORM. I used this in past jobs and it is fantastic for getting the information you need to be compiled in one spot! You can even use it for Employment Applications, work comp claims, surveys, and more!
I finally pulled the trigger after lots of back pain and got a stand-up desk. Not only does it help the back, but I can stand while doing virtual presentations, and videos for social media! I even put it together myself!
Better than spellcheck! Grammarly is the bomb. It works everywhere. You can download it on your phone, on Google, MS Word, and even on websites that you are typing on. It is the best grammar app ever.
